Who
operates YFBC:
A Board of Directors is in control of the operations at the Youth
Farm Bible Camp. An Executive Director is hired to manage and operate
the camp. The Board reports to the Mennonite Church Sask. through
the Camp Coordinating Committee.
Mennonite
Church Sask. operates three camps in the province. They realize
that sending a child to camp can bring concerns to parents.
For
this reason, our camps have tried to make these decisions easier
for you to make. Children are not the only ones who benefit from
the Saskatchewan Mennonite summer camp program. Parents can also
relax knowing that our camps are looking after the welfare of their
children.
The
individual campss are responsible for hiring both paid staff members
and volunteer staff members. Anyone interested in applying for work
at any one of the three camps must send in a staff application form
to the Mennonite Church Sask. office. The CoMoS office sends the
staff application form to the camp that is specified on the application
form. The the individual camps then process this application form
and decides whether or not to hire the individual.
In
addition to sharing a common hiring process, Saskatchewan Mennonite
summer camps also share share a common camp policy. This policy
includes a:
1.
Staff contract form. All camp directors, counselors and counselors-in-training
are required to sign this contract.
2.
Sexual harassment policy.
3.
Child abuse policy.
4.
Child abuse declaration form.
5.
Departure from camp form. This mandatory form is a deterrent to
people who might try to have unlawful access to the child during
the week that the child is at camp.
Saskatchewan
Mennonite camps work hard to protect their campers from an imperfect
world. For more information regarding the Saskatchewan Mennonite
summer camp policy, please contact the Mennonite
Church office.
