How to get to YFBC!!
A Third Way
In early 16th Century western culture there was one all encompassing church - the Roman Catholic church. However, it was during this century that the church changed in a significant way. The protestan reformation, with it's leaders Martin Luther and John Calvin, resisted the Catholic church. Read more about the Protestant Reformation - history and reforms.

Out of this religious revolution came the anabaptists. A group of people who went farther then the Calvinists and Lutherans. A sect that differed in views of infant baptism and a united church and state. A third way.

Campers at YFBC come from a variety of backgrounds. Approximately 33% of campers are Mennonite.

Matthew 25:35-36
I was hungry and you gave me food,
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,
I was a stranger and you welcomed me,
I was naked and you gave me clothing,
I was sick and you took care of me,
I was in prison and you visited me.

Mennonites seek to show God's love to the rest of the world in tangible ways.

It is why the Mennonite Central Committee was started.

We are called to follow Jesus' radical teachings of love, in which the peacemakers are children of God (Matthew 5:9)

The Prince of Peace
is Jesus Christ.
We who were formerly
no people at all,
Who knew of no peace,
Are now called to be
a church of peace.
Their hearts overflow with peace.
Their mouths speak peace,
And they walk in the way of peace.
--Menno Simons, 1552

Confession of Faith
God calls us to be followers of Jesus Christ and, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to grow as communities of grace, joy, and peace, so that God’s healing and hope flow through us to the world.
