CIT Director Job Description

Three-Four month position
Responsible to the Executive Director

The main responsibility of this position is to oversee the CIT program. When attention and time is devoted to a CIT program, YFBC will produce competent leaders. This job could also mean some weeks as a counselor. Because of this, please refer to the Counselors Job Description as well.

Responsible for the Counselor-in-Training Program.
• Contact each CIT/WIT personally during the month of June. Find out which weeks they can work (try to keep a maximum of three weeks per summer) and inform them about the CIT orientation
• Prepare for the CIT/WIT devotions which take place each day from 1:30 - 2:30 every camp day.
• Responsible for training and disciplining CITs/WITs during the summer camp season. They are not directly responsible to the Director. They are first responsible to the CIT Director.
• Responsible for CIT/WIT orientation at the beginning of summer. It is held the week-end after Senior Staff Orientation.
• Strengthen a CIT staff manual (it is much alike the Counselor manual, except with a few changes gearing it towards CITs and their specific job description)
• Work with the wrangler in developing the WIT staff manual.


Pray for the camp, the Leadership, and the rest of the staff.

It is also expected that the CIT Director is an integral part of the overall program at YFBC. They will be expected to use their skills/talents in other areas of camp life. This may include:

  • Music
  • Camp Program
  • Media (website/camp videos)
  • Skills
  • Or other areas of the Summer Camp Program

At the end of summer, the CIT Director will prepare a report that includes the following:
• general evaluation of the summer
• specific evaluation of each CIT and Kitchen Help Volunteer.
• recommendations
• evaluation of the CIT Director position
