Cook Job Description
Two-three
month position
Responsible to the Executive Director
- Prepare
menus for the various camps
Purchase
the food according to budget and guidelines indicated by the Board.
- Prepare
and serve the meals
- Ensure
the kitchen area is kept sanitary, presentable and attractive.
- Abide
by Department of Health regulations.
- Arrange
for (this includes recruiting) and manage the kitchen help; including
assistants and younger helpers. Also have daily devotions with
the kitchen staff.
- Consult
with the Program Director as to schedules, menu specifics, and
any problems incurred.
- Ensure
that the food services works toward fulfillment of the camp purpose.
- At
the end of summer camp clean the kitchen and ensure that excess
supplies are returned, sold or dispersed.
- Provide
an evaluation of the summer. This report is to include resource
information for future head cooks. (Sample menus and Supply lists,
etc.)
