Counselor Job Description

Two month position
Responsible to the Program Director

  • Pray for, befriend, and play with campers at all times during the camp week. Seek to develp a personal relationship with your campers in order that you might be able to meet their pysical, emotional, and Spiritual needs.
    Lead devotions with your cabin every evening (or supervise while CIT leads).
    Continue to develop a personal relationship with our Lord and Saviour through prayer and Bible reading. He is our power source! Find a prayer warrior!
  • Encourage campers to keep the cabin clean. There will be daily inspections.
    Support & encourage the YFBC Staff.
  • Lead, or help to lead, a skill event.
  • Interact with male and female counselors in a manner that is consistent with the high standards of our Christian Faith. Campers are your first priority; personal relationships must not interfere with the camp week.
  • Give leadership to Counselors-in-Training and Wranglers -in- Training when they are in your cabin.
  • Participate in all activities.
  • Responsible to Wrangler when with horses.
  • Be friendly to campers and their parents and introduce them to the camp and cabin.
    Counselors should dress modestly.
  • In conclusion, a counselor is one who models Jesus Christ in the way he/she counsels, talks, and acts.
