Wrangler Job Description

Three-Four month position
Responsible to the Executive Director

Specific Responsibilities
• Prepare, care for and maintain horses
• Read and follow horsemanship handbook
• Plan and carry out the horsemanship program so that it can be integrated into the children's and special needs camps. Resources from past years are available. Integration into the total program is to be done in consultation with the Director and Board.
• Plan and organize the Teen Trail Rides.
• Process Teen Trail Ride applicants.
• Gather animals for Petting Zoo and being in charge of their feeding and care while they are the camps responsibility. This includes ensuring that someone will care for them at times you are off site.
• Oversee along with the CIT Director the Wrangler-in-training (WIT) program.
• Ensure that the animal program works toward fulfillment of the purpose.
• Help lead prayer/devotional times with WITs.
• Ensure that all aspects of petting zoo and horse program are cleaned up at the end of summer.
• Provide evaluation reports on the Horse Program, Assistant Wrangler and WITs at the end of summer.
